Michael Reid
Director of Bands
Michael Reid is in his first year as Director of Instrumental Music at Centennial High School. Mr. Reid spent the previous 5 years as Director of Bands at Osborne High School in Marietta, Georgia. Before that Mr. Reid served as Director of Bands at Griffin Middle School in Smyrna, Georgia. He also spent six years on the marching band staff at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia where he served as the Director of the Second Marching Band. While he was at Lassiter the band won the Bands of America Grand National Championship.
Mr.Reid is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Music Education from Boston University. He holds a Masters of Music in Music Education from Georgia State University and a Bachelors in Music Education from Louisiana State University. He has worked as a guest conductor and clinician throughout metro Atlanta and was the Honor Band Conductor for the2009 AASCA Music Festival in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Mr. Reid currently resides in Powder Springs, Georgia with his wife of 11 years, Lauren, whom he met when they were in the high school band together. Mr. and Mrs. Reid have two children, Faith (9) and Burke (5).
