The Mighty Knights Marching Band Camp
The Mighty Knights Marching Band Camp is a mandatory activity for all students who plan to participate in the marching band program at Centennial HS. The Mighty Knights Marching Band Camp is a two week activity where students are coached in the performances of music, field and parade maneuvers, and other significant Marching Band literature. This activity assists the students in preparation for their performance in numerous parades, competitions, and half time shows of football games.

Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) All-State Band
The GMEA All-State Band is a group of students who are deemed the Best in The State of Georgia. Students are selected through two rigorous auditions: District and State. Students pay a fee and make a commitment to participate in the All-State Band Audition process in August of each academic Year. GMEA All-State Band Audition requirements are available at www.gmea.org. The All-State Band District Audition is held locally on the first or second Saturday of December. If a student passes the District Audition they will move on to the Final Audition which is usually held the second or third Saturday of January. After passing the Final Audition, selected students travel to Savannah, Georgia where they will have the opportunity to rehearse and practice with other outstanding high school students who are considered the BEST in the state of Georgia. The students also have the opportunity, attend concerts, and work with internationally renowned conductors.

The Fulton County Marching Band Exhibition
The Fulton County Marching Band Exhibition is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Marching Band program at Centennial HS. The Fulton County Marching Band Exhibition is an event that involves all of the marching bands within the Fulton County School System. The event takes an entire day as the marching selects this day as a rehearsal for the half-time show. The event is hosted by one of the schools with in the Fulton County School System and generally rotates between North and South area of the county. All bands receive adjudication results from the event, which prepare then for upcoming competitions and performances.

The Fall Concert
The Fall Concert is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band at Centennial HS. The Fall Concert is an event that takes place in October. The bands have a scheduled dress rehearsal prior to this event and perform the concert in the Centennial HS Auditorium for parents, family, friends, and the community. No Admission is required. Other ensembles at Centennial HS may perform on this concert based on level of preparation.

The Jazz Café
The Jazz Café is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Jazz Ensemble and at Centennial HS. The Jazz Café is an event that takes place in November. The Jazz Ensembles has a series of scheduled rehearsals prior to the event and general perform in the Centennial HS Cafeteria for parents, family, friends, and the community. Other ensembles may perform on this concert based on level of preparation. Admission to this event requires the purchase of a ticket or paid admission at the door.

The Winter Concerts
The Winter Concert is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Symphonic Winds (select members of the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band) at Centennial HS. The Winter Concert is an event that takes place in December. The bands have scheduled dress rehearsals prior to this event and generally perform the concert at Center Court of North Point Mall. The event is free and open to the public. Other ensembles at Centennial HS may perform on this concert based on level of preparation.

As necessary, an additional Winter Concert will take place in December as a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band at Centennial HS. The bands have a scheduled dress rehearsal prior to this event and perform the concert in the Centennial HS Auditorium for parents, family, friends, and the community. Other ensembles at Centennial HS may perform on this concert based on level of preparation. Admission to this event requires the purchase of a ticket or paid admission at the door.

University of Georgia January Festival
Centennial High School Students are nominated by the Band Faculty and Staff in November. The selection process is governed by the University of Georgia Band program and takes place in January of the following year. Selected students will leave Centennial HS for the University of Georgia campus on Thursday and return on the following Sunday evening. There is a cost for this trip which does not include meals. Transportation is provided the Band Staff and parent volunteers. The selected students have the opportunities to attend instrumental clinics, rehearse and practice with collegiate and high students who are the best in the state, attend concerts, and work with renowned conductors and teachers within the state of Georgia and the nation. The event ends on Sunday with a number of Concerts.

Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) District V Honor Band
As part of the GMEA All-State Band is audition process, students with the highest scores from the District Audition will be selected to participate in the GMEA District V Honor Band. Students will have to pay an acceptance and make a commitment to participate in the GMEA District V Honor Band, which is held in the month of February. The event is held at a local GMEA District V school. Students will have the opportunity to rehearse and practice with other outstanding high school students who are considered the BEST in the GMEA District V. The students also have the opportunities to participate in clinics, attend concerts, and work with nationally renowned conductors.

Spring Festival Clinic
The purpose of the Festival Clinic is to prepare the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band for outstanding performances at the Georgia Music Educators Association Performance and Evaluation. Guest conductors are invited from area universities and high school to work with the band during this great event. Local professional musicians and Centennial HS Band Alumni are also invited to serve as instrumental clinicians. The Festival Clinic will be held on a consecutive Friday and Saturday in February. This activity is mandatory for all Centennial High School Band members. The entire 2008 Festival Clinic ends with a performance that features all groups performing their entire repertoire being prepared for the 2008 GMEA Performance and Evaluation.

The Knight of Jazz
The Knight of Jazz is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Jazz Ensemble at Centennial HS. The Knight of Jazz is an event that takes place in March. The Jazz Ensembles has a series of scheduled rehearsals prior to the event and general perform at a local venue. Other ensembles may perform on this concert based on level of preparation. This event is open to the public. Admission to this event requires the purchase of a ticket or paid admission at the door. This event is a Major Fundraiser for the Jazz Ensemble.

The Centennial Cluster Bands Celebration
The Centennial Cluster Bands Celebration is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band program at Centennial HS. The Centennial Cluster Bands Celebration is an event that involves all schools within the Centennial HS Cluster (Barnwell Elem, Ester Jackson Elem, Hillside Elem, Northwood Elem, River Eves Elem; Haynes Bridge MS and Holcomb Bridge MS). This event is open to the public and no admission is required. The bands have scheduled dress rehearsals prior to this event and generally perform the concert in the Gymnasium at Centennial HS.

The Spring Concert
The Spring Concert is a mandatory activity for all students who participate in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band at Centennial HS. The Winter Concert is an event that takes place in late April. The bands have scheduled dress rehearsals prior to this event and generally perform the concert in the Auditorium at Centennial HS. Admission to this event requires the purchase of a ticket or paid admission at the door. Other ensembles at Centennial HS may perform on this concert based on level of preparation.
